Tables display tabular data, which can be viewed, filtered, and sorted in your reports.

Creating Tables

Datapane supports tables comprised of tabular data (such as an Excel sheet or a database table). Tables can be created using the API from a pandas DataFrame.

import pandas as pd
import datapane as dp
d = {'col1': [1, 2], 'col2': [3, 4]}
df = pd.DataFrame(data=d)
table = dp.Table.create(df)

Viewing Tables

Tables are displayed inside your boards, where they can be viewed, sorted, and filtered.

By default, only the first 10,000 cells of data are loaded into the table viewer. You can load the entire dataset by clicking the respective button. If you would like to work with the dataset outside of Datapane, you can also download it as a CSV.

Column Types

For all datasets, Datapane infers the type (or schema) of each column, including the following,

A variable-length string

A positive or negative 64-bit whole number

A 64-bit double floating point value

A string column is interpreted as a category if more than 10% of the values are repeated

A true or false value

A point in time, can be a date, time, or both date and time
